Within the framework of the contract signed by Egatel with ENMA -formerly the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU)- for the supply, installation and start-up of a Doherty Liquid Cooled High Power DVB-T2 Transmitter, SeriesTLWH7803 2.3KW DD for the AL HAMMAN site (on the western Egyptian coast, near Alexandria) as well as monitoring racks, supervision and electrical protections in a comprehensive project in said transmission center; During this past month of May, ENMA officials visited the Egatel factory and Laboratories to carry out the corresponding factory acceptance tests (FAT), as well as to receive training on the Egatel equipment.
Through this strategic contract, Egatel consolidates its presence in Africa, as well as in one of the largest and most populous countries on the continent.
Transmitter energy efficiency is a key factor for network operators when selecting TV transmitters. The TLWH7800 series, equipped with wideband Doherty technology, overcomes the drawbacks of classic Doherty transmitters while keeping all the benefits. Egatel transmitters achieve energy efficiency of up to 38% for COFDM waveforms and 42% for ATSC waveforms. Efficiency is maintained throughout the UHF range, so no adjustment of the power amplifiers is required when changing the RF channel of operation.
